A treasure trove of foreign postal markings is found on this around the world 1894
German postal card bearing, among other stamps, the Hawaii 2¢ brown Scott No. 75.
Postmarks of Cairo, Suez, Batavia, Hawaii, San Francisco, Savannah (Georgia, USA),
Semarang (Dutch Indies), New York and Paris are among those on this card.
All marks shown here are taken from mail to or from Hawaii. This sample is a fraction
of what exists, particularly from Europe and the United States where correspondence was
extensive. Marks are organized here according to continent and the postal markings are
mixed with the auxiliary marks. Oceania is a separate group to pick up islands. North
Atlantic ship marks are shown following the geographically based marks. A
representative bibliography is at the end of the page.
